Carrabba’s Blackberry Sangria is one of the signature items of Italian and Spanish plentiful drinks. By your own choice, you can reconstruct this drink more deliciously with blackberries, oranges, apples, strawberries, and three types of syrups and red wine. I always prefer homemade blackberry sangria. It reduces the cost of buying any branded syrup. Rather, You can also increase and decrease the amount of sugar of your choice.
Below, I included the homemade sangria(syrup) recipe along with the whole procedures of Carrabba’s Blackberry Sangria through the simplest steps.

  • Homemade blackberry sangria(syrup)

  • Soda water/ sprite (per shot)

  • Lemon slices- 2-3 pieces

  • Orange slices- 2-3 pieces

  • Blackberry slices- 2-3 pieces

  • Water- 1 cup

  • Blackberries- 2 cup

  • Ice cubes (as per needed in one shot)

  • Tools
  • A mixing jar

  • 2 shot glass

  • A sieve

  • A bowl/ jar

  • A saucepan

How to make Carrabba’s Blackberry Sangria

  • Gather all ingredients: Gather all the syrup, juice, and wine items and keep them near your hands. I prefer ‘Malbec’ red wine instead of any brand,  but you can use any well-branded red wine according to your taste, like- ‘Bisanzio’. For cranberry flavor, buy ‘Ocean spray’ cranberry juice, and the neediest item is the blackberry sangria mix. You can make it at home or use ‘Monin blackberry sangria mix’ .
    Gather all ingredients
  •  Homemade blackberry syrup: Instead of Monin blackberry sangria mix, you can use homemade blackberry syrup. It gives a genuine taste as you want. So, Firstly, turn on the stove and place a saucepan on it. Heat it in a low-medium.

  • Melt sugar and simmer the berries: Place 2 cups of sugar and 2 cups of blackberries into the pan. Add 1⁄2 cup of warm water and stir the mixture gradually until the berries simmer completely.
Melt sugar and simmer the berries
  • Squeeze the cooked berries: When sugar and berries are quite mixed, place the pan out off the stove. Transfer it into a bowl or pan. Let the mixture cool enough to manage. Now, squeeze the cooked berries with a spoon or by hand.

  • Strain the syrup and keep it in the fridge: Strain the mixture. Take a big jar and set a sieve on top of it. Pour the mixture through the sieve to get the clear liquid blackberry sangria(syrup). Rest it for 1 hour in the fridge. You can use a bowl instead of a jar.
Strain the syrup and keep it in the fridge
  •  Fridge it out and combine all syrups: After 1-hour, fridge out the homemade syrup. Take a large jar to make the complete Carrabba’s Blackberry Sangria. Pour 1/2 bottle of Malbec red wine and 8 oz of cranberry juice into the jar. Add 8 oz of ‘homemade blackberry syrup’ or ‘Monin blackberry sangria mix’. Combine with a spoon entirely.
Fridge it out and combine all syrups
  • Cut some fresh fruits: Stop the stirring and sit it in the fridge again for 20 minutes. Now, gather some of your favorite fruits like oranges, red and blackberries, apples, and lemon. Cut them into tiny slices and cubes.

  • Mix the sliced fruits with sangria and let it absorb: Now, mix the fruits finely with the sangria. Stir together and place the jar into the refrigerator for 4-5 hours. Let it absorb finely. Cover the jar-top with a lid. This fruit mix gives the sangria a robust fruity punch. The more it absorbs, the more its flavors are strong.
  • Add soda water or a sprite: In the meantime, you can add one can of soda water or one can of the sprite to give the sangria a little bit of soft cocktail flavor. As it’s not a cocktail but a fruity punch with red wine, so you can lessen the sprite or add more according to your desire.
Add soda water or a sprite
  • Garnish and serve in a shot / Collin glass: Bring out the complete sangria and garnish it by your choice. Take 2 -3 collin glass or shot and put some ice cubes into it. Add some tiny slices of berries and lemons before serving. Lastly, fill the glass with ready homemade Carrabba’s Blackberry Sangria.
