Cheddars Green Beans is traditionally the easiest and softest recipe ever! From my point of view, this delicious item can be made with just from 4 to 5 main ingredients such as fresh beans, cheddars, milk, and additionally fresh spices like thyme, black pepper, paprika, and salt.

  • Fresh Green Beans – 2 pounds

  • Bacon- 8-10 (stripes slice)

  • Button Mushrooms- 8 ounces

  • Diced Yellow Onion- 1 cup

  • Ground Garlic Cloves- 4 cloves

  • All-purpose Flour- 1 cup

  • Chicken Stock- 2 cups

  • Diced fresh Thyme- 1 tsp

  • Milk- ½ cup

  • Whole Eggs- 1 piece

  • Salt- as per taste

  • Black pepper- as per taste

  • Paprika- 2 tsp

  • Olive Oil- 3-4 tsp

  • Cheddar Cheese / Heavy cream- ½ cup

  • Cut the fresh beans into small pieces: Cut the fresh french term of string beans just the end off and if you want more bite-size small pieces, cut them into half or fourth bite-size pieces.

  • Boil in the salted water: Now, Preheat the stove to high heat and place a round pot with water onto the stove. Put 1 tsp of salt into it. Add the washed beans and boil them for 3-4 minutes. Stir so that they can move the top to the bottom in the pot of water.

  • Strain the boiled beans: Put the pan down after the beans are slightly firm and boiled. Strain them from the hot water. Give it a good shake to get all the hot water off.

  • Put them into the ice water: Now, put the boiled beans into a large ice-water container again. This ice water cools the hot beans immediately and disallows them to boil more with hot vapor.

  • Drain and set separate: This time you need to drain out the beans of the ice water. Drain them for almost 20 minutes and put them separately for the next step.

  • Cut the mushroom buttons into slices: To get a strong mushroom flavor is to add mushroom slices. So, cut the ‘big button mushrooms’ and ‘baby Bella mushrooms’ into small slices. Set them aside.

  • Slice the bacon: Now, take a chopping board and a big layer of bacon. Slice the portion of bacon up into thin layers.

  • Fry deep the sliced bacon: This time, place a frying pan on the stove. Add 2 tsp of butter and 1 tsp of ground cloves. Stir for a few seconds, then plus the slices of bacon into it. Saute gradually until browned up. After frying, set it in an aside dish using a straining spoon.

  • Cook mushrooms and onions: Use the same pan again, add 1 tsp of olive oil and place the washed mushrooms and onions. Heat the stove at medium-high heat. Stir them into vice-versa and let them perfectly cook and caramelize. It takes almost 10 minutes to get the pure flavor.

  • Sprinkle the flour and add chicken stock: We need to make a thick roux, so you must add ⅓ cup of all-purpose flour and stir together continuously. After 30 seconds, add the chicken stock and cook until creamy texture.

  • Pour cheddar cheese/whipping cream: To get the pure gravy texture, you must add the liquid cheddar cheese or heavy whipping cream. Both can use as alternating each other. Cook them for 5-7 minutes on medium-low heat.

  • Put the fried bacon and seasonings: Afterward,  the fried bacon and black pepper ground, paprika powder, and salt, as per taste.

  • Add boiled beans into the roux: After combining the bacon and seasonings, add those boiled beans to it. Stir them altogether gradually with a soft motion for 3-4 minutes.

  • Bake this Cheddar’s Green Beans: Then, you need to transfer them into a baking tray spreading along straight. Use a spatula. Then preheat the oven and bring back the tray into it. Bake the dish only at 225 degrees for 20 minutes to get the brown texture.

  • Make crispy onion rings: Take a bowl, crack a whole egg and add 2 tsp of flour and a pinch of salt. Whisk it properly. Then fold some onion rings with it. Fry them in deep hot oil for one minute.
