how to make Honey Garlic Chicken Wings

  • Marinate The Chicken: Before we marinate the chicken wings, we will cut the chicken wings in half so they better absorb the seasoning and get cooked well. Rinse and pat dry, then take them to a large mixing bowl. Now we will add the seasonings and sauce to marinate the chicken.
Add two teaspoons of light soy sauce, freshly ground one teaspoon of black pepper, salt as per taste, half a tablespoon of oyster sauce, one egg white ( don’t need to beat), three teaspoons of cornstarch, and give it a good mix. Cover and leave it in the corner of the countertop for a minimum of half an hour.
Meanwhile, the wings will absorb the marination and be ready to fry.
    Marinate The Chicken
  •  Coat The Chicken Wings: On a wide plate and spread 300 grams of all-purpose flour. Now take the chicken wings and coat them evenly with this flour. Ensure each wing is perfectly covered with flour, and not even a dot is left.
Then shake gently and remove the excess flour. Like this, coat all the chicken wings and take them in a separate bowl.
    Coat The Chicken Wings
  • Fry The Chicken Wings: Turn on the stove and set the heat to medium-high. Place a skillet on top of it and fill half with cooking oil to deep fry the chicken wings. Once the oil is heated enough, place the chicken wings keeping enough for flipping sides, and reduce the heat to medium-low. After 3 minutes, flip the side and fry for another three minutes. Flip and fry until the chicken wings turn golden. Once done, take out the fried chicken wings in a plate line with tissue paper to absorb excess oil, or keep them on top of a cooling rack.
    Fry The Chicken Wings:
  • Make The Sauce: In another clean skillet, add 1 ½  teaspoon of unsalted butter, and let it melt, meantime take four garlic cloves and mince. Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and keep frying for a minute or until golden brown. Now add three teaspoons of tomato sauce and two teaspoons of honey. Add four teaspoons of fresh tap water and give it a good mix. Wait until it comes to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for a few minutes or until it gets thick enough.
    Make The Sauce
  • Add The Chicken: When you will see the suace is bubbling and has reached perfect thickness add the fried chicken wings and mix with the sauce. You just have to ensure the chicken wings have absorbed/coated with the sauce. It will not take more than two minutes. Then turn off the flame and transfer the chicken wings to a serving plate.
    Add The Chicken
  •  Serve: Now, the chicken wings are all ready to serve. Take some sesame and toast them. Now sprinkle them over the chicken wings and serve them hot. You can also add a few chopped spring onions, making the chicken’s wings more beautiful. Serve it with ramen noodles, any type of salad, nachos, fresh crunchy veggies, etc. And to enjoy the best umami flavor, don’t forget the dipping sauce like maple syrup mixed with soy sauce or buffalo sauce.

Why Should You Try Honey Garlic Chicken Wings

Honey garlic chicken wings are a delicious and easy way to indulge in some good eats. Not only do they taste great, but they’re also packed with flavor and spices that will take your meal up a notch. Plus, these wings are versatile—you can use them as part of an appetizer or main course.  These savory wing bombs are made with three main ingredints wings, honey, and garlic.

Honey is known for its sweet taste, while garlic has an intense aroma and flavor that adds an acidic kick to the wings.Honey helps tenderize the wings, while garlic preserves moisture in poultry by inhibiting starches from turning rancid. Together, these two ingredients help intensify the flavors of the other ingredients, creating a mouth-watering result.

Not only are these delicious wing bites incredibly tasty, but they also provide tons of health benefits. Honey is a natural anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory agent that can help reduce pain associated with arthritis or other joint conditions. Soy is high in plant-based protein, which helps to build muscle mass, while garlic contains antibacterial properties that fight infection. Garlic is also rich in antioxidants, which can protect the body against harmful free radicals.

Furthermore, this dish is low in calories and fat while still being a satisfyingly flavorful option for those trying to lose weight or manage their cholesterol levels. Additionally, they also contain a high level of protein – making them an excellent choice for those looking to boost their intake of muscle-building essential nutrients.

So why don’t you give honey garlic chicken wings a try tonight?

How To Store Honey Garlic Chicken Wings

It’s better to eat honey garlic chicken wings before two hours pass. But if some leftovers are there, transfer them to an air-sealed container and store them in the refrigerator for upto four days. And if you want to make some for later use, store them without tossing them in the sauce.

After frying, let them come to room temperature, then place them in a tray with enough space in the fridge for 3 hours. Then remove and keep the chicken wings in the air-sealed bag or container and store them in the fridge. This way, the chicken wings will be good till upto four months.

Whenever you want to eat, take out the chicken wings, let them come to room temperature, heat in the oven for 5-8 minutes, and then toss in freshly made honey garlic sauce.

Tips And Tricks

  • Just because I have said to coat the chicken wings well, don’t clump them with flour, just dust with flour all over the skin.
  • Don’t fry one side of the chicken wings for a long time or until golden brown; flip and fry a few times to make it golden. If you fry one side for a long time, it will get burned faster and won’t turn crispy.
  • Must use minced garlic; it will pump up the sauce volume, resulting in the sweet and sour flavor of honey garlic chicken wings.
  • If you want to avoid deep-fried meals, you can still enjoy these honey garlic chicken wings at home. Bake the marinated chicken wings in a hot oven until golden brown or crisp, then toss in the same sauce we just made above.
